What I Learned Today at the end of an 18 hour day!

Part of my goal setting/time management workshop included the productivity tip from either Dale Carnegie or a chapter in Og Mandino’s University of Success. The tip was to sit down at the end of each day and ask, “What did I learn today?” I doubt many of the participants do it because it takes both honest self assessment and clear thinking at the end of the day. Both requirements are ‘morning people’. Like me. So I decided to do the opposite of how I feel start a new habit.

What I learned today:

  • Trusting people is more rewarding than playing it safe.
  • Asking for help can open stories I would have never guessed.
  •  Keeping on keeping on can allow others to change.
  • A great presentation can happen with an audience of one as well as one thousand.
  • I need to market more.
  • I look pretty good in front of camera.

In addition here is what I reaffirmed:

  • Prayers work.
  • Maintaining an attitude of positive expectations, in the face of a crisis, is a valuable tool.
  • Gratitude is a game changer.
  • The best way to learn is by teaching to another.
  • When asked, people always value relationships over money.

And finally I have decided to work on the following changes tomorrow:

  • Put more time into thinking about the one thing I could do that would move me closer to my number one relationship goal.
  • Ask 5 friends what they see as my most self limiting trait. Then I am going to focus on that trait until it changes.

Learn, reaffirm, change. RepeatGot it:)

I am the founder of Pro356 Consulting which focuses on promoting organizational wellness, productivity, and profitability. I hope to share insights I have learned from so many others in living my life. If they prove useful to anyone, then my time here is well spent. While I have a Harvard MBA, I think I learned quite a bit as a 11 year old paper boy. And I know I will learn from anyone who comments back. Wishing you a masterpiece day, Rick
